Making Rights Real join call for Human Rights Bill

Making Rights Real have joined more than 50 organisations in writing to the First Minister ahead of next week’s Programme for Government (coordinated by Amnesty International UK), urging the Scottish Government to deliver on its commitment to introduce a Human Rights Bill.

The letter makes clear that a Human Rights Bill is not only about strengthening rights protections. It is also a practical tool for tackling poverty, inequality and exclusion, helping to ensure that everyone in Scotland can live with dignity and access the support they need.

The call echoes recent work from the Scottish Human Rights Commission, which has highlighted the importance of a human rights-based approach to ending poverty in Scotland.
